Slip Dress Styling Tips For Winter
The holiday season is in full swing! As the parties and gatherings get underway, “What to wear” is always top of mind. It’s times like these I love having key pieces in my closet to rely upon when an occasion comes up. Slip dresses are just that for me! They are timeless, sophisticated, and can be styled so many different ways.
Tip #1) Choose A Festive Color
A dark, emerald green slip dress is the perfect piece to wear during the holiday season and beyond. I have slip dresses in several colors and think they are both elegant and sexy in an understated way. I love the timeless versatility of a slip dress–you can glam it up for a sophisticated holiday dinner or even wear it more casually with boots and an oversized sweater or blazer. If you don’t like wearing a fitted slip dress, go for a looser one and add a belt to define your waist. Either way, you’ll be styling this season!
Tip #2) Layer For Warmth
You can always add a shrug for more warmth or coverage. I paired this dress with a stylish winter white faux fur jacket from Revolve. I’ve been getting so many compliments on it, and it instantly glams-up any look. This jacket looks so expensive and is well-priced at$108, a definite must-have for this season.
Tip #3) Sparkly Shoes Say It All
To level up any holiday look, just add a sparkly pair of Cinderella shoes like these pumps from Alohas. The classic slingback style and feminine ankle strap complement the slip dress. I also like to wear them with jeans!
Tip #4) Add Glam Accessories
It’s all about the accessories when wearing a slip dress for a holiday festivity. For more elements of glam, add a long chunky necklace like these vintage pearls. You can also add a small black classic bag to finish off the look.
